Thinking about selling and was looking for some input on a good asking price
Well I have had some thoughts of selling my 79 911sc and I am really looking for some help with a good starting price so I am not too high or low... The car is in very good shape with lots of new stuff from cross drilled rotors and pads to paint and front window. It also has a binder of all the paperwork from day one. The interior is in very nice condition with no holes in the seats or cracks on the dash. I also have allot of stock parts in storage that will go with it like running boards, headlights, seats, and much much more.
So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rob ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Roll bar sometimes decreases value - was car tracked auto-x'd?
Those door speakers will also knock a couple thousand off the price. ![]() |

The cage in the car is only for looks, It has not been a track car. The milage shown on the car shows 37k but there is no way... I have found some info in the paperwork that shows atleast mid hundreds.

some really easy things which will make the car much more appealing and sellable would be to loose the steering wheel, shift knob and speakers - replace with stock or something less goofy.

I do have most of the stock parts including the stock steering wheel, shift knob and speaker covers that whoever would buy it could switch back to if there not into the goofy look.

switch it out now, it'll make it much easier to sell the car and you'll get more money for it. guaranteed.

Might want to be prepaired and run a CarFax. This may help you discover the correct milage range.
+1 on the putting the stock components back. However, the outside is modded to so couled just wate for the buyer that will like them both. Two months ago I bought my 85 Carrera w 129k, red/black, one so Cal owner, sport seats, LSD, 7&8 Fuchs, original paint, with a typical incredible shrinking dash and a couple of door dings for $14k. So $10k-$13.5k. Best of luck. |

Put the stock wheel, speakers, shift knob on. The ricer stuff - you can ebay. I'd pull the roll bar - sell it separately. The bar says "This car has been tracked". They won't hear you say it hasn't. Last edited by tcar; 06-18-2008 at 08:05 AM.. |
