Interior color code help needed
Hi all, my 83 cab has a 2 tone interior "champaign and brown". I called Porsche and that is all the info they could give me, no codes. I've looked in the Red Book and searched here and could not find it. The seats and door panels are champaign, the dash, arm rests and center console trim are brown. I would like to get some brown dye from Leatherique but I don't have a color code and I can't get a 1" square sample since there is very little leather there. The brown is milk chocolate colored to my eyes.
Anyone know what the color code for the brown is for 1983 SCs? thanks! Michael

The dark brown color for 1983 was "cadbury brown." The color code is 4RB. JR |

Javadog, I just discovered that the color codes are in the parts katalog. I now see that 4RB is the code for brown leatherette for 83-. My dash is leather and I see that it is KZ5 for 83-. I just wanted to make sure there were no other browns since some of the dye web sites list several brown color codes.

Color codes can be confusing. I am getting the code from a factory color sample book, not PET. The color sample book shows 3NG for 1982, then 4RB for 1983, 1984, 1985 and so on.
No mention of KZ5. My suggestion would be to ask them for a sample and see how close it is. JR |
