Replacing Clutch

Hi All,
Among other things, I am replacing my clutch. I had my flywheel resurfaced and got a Sachs light weight power clutch, new throwout bearing, and a new main flywheel seal. Anyway, a question:

Getting the old seal out was a bear. I finally did get it out - without marring the metal around it. I then put some oil on the new seal and pressed it in. Now, I used a blunt instrument to press it into place. I got it flush, but then working around the seal, I was able to press it in about 1/16th of an inch more. Is this ok, or does it absolutely HAVE to be flush???

That is fine. Flush is good, slight off from that does not kill you.

You are fine just the way it is. You just don't want it sticking out.

Thanks guys! Whew! Once again, the simplest things - you know! I keep telling myself to take "before" pictures - before any repair - but then I forget to! I mean, what can be difficult about replacing a seal you know? Until you do it and it can be tapped further in than flush. Hmmmmm, I wonder if its supposed to be like this :) Thanks again.
