1973 911T need help with wheels!

It came with some serious BBS Wheels on it. I broke one the first night, so I bought a 944 for the cookie cutters just so I can drive it until I find some wider street wheels. This being my first 911, have no idea what fits the best. I bought a pair of 16X7" polished original Fuchs for the front, but are they too wide? Will they even remotely full up my 930 wheel flares in the rear? Spacers?

My front wheels now are so small there is approx. a mile between the tire and fender, was that way too with the BBS wheels.

My eyes hurt from comparing tire sizes etc. and have seen so many different wheels on the early 911's my head is spinning! Pics of before and after. Help!

Well I have a widebody 72 T, something like that, and I went with 17-inch wheels made with Fuchs centers.

That is over the top!!! You had them custom made, or is there a company that sells them like that?

you're really not looking for wheels for a 73T, right?
you are looking for a widebody combo
(Jack's are from Lindsey Racing)

Bill beat me to it. Lindsey racing 17" wheels probably 9 and 11 wide for the front and rear respectively. At least that is what is on my IROC clone. I would also suggest selling your IROC tail to me so you can go with a duck like Jack.

norcal relics, what motor do you have in there? Is that a T with wide body work or is there a motor to match?

I couldn't change the tail now, can't afford the bodywork...have to save up for wheels now!

THis is my first 911. There is a bigger motor, it's a 3.0 from a 1978, more than that I don't know. The first time at 4K RPM with my foot planted in it I wasn't ready for what happened, been driving VW Buses for fun cars all my life. I can safely say this car has lived up to every expectation for a 911, the sounds, the acceleration, the rear coming round unexpectedly..

The 17" combo looks unbelievable, Lindsay Racing? Are they strong enough for street use, or are they track use only?

The widebody kit is welded, and the car is built for track use; sway bars, roll cage, harnesses, Recaros, full rebuild of the trans with 930 gears, etc. I'm going to run a search on Lindsay Racing right now!
