How do I add a seat belt anchor to an '85?

I bought a pair of used non-electric blue sport seats for my '85 Carrera and they don't include the side seat mounts that my old seats had.

Is there a hole in my floor from earlier SC models that will make this mod simple?

I don't want to screw around in this area and for obvious reasons I want to do this right.

Thanks,

Scott

The folks at PEP engineering used to sell the bracket, bolt & the self locking flat nut assy. I used it, it is a PITA to install, but once in is worry free...

Check with them. I think it is www.peparts.com

This is niche market supplier, not a Pelican competitor.

You might try the separate-piece 964 seat bracket...as described by KTL here--->

Consensus on "Best" Way to Mount Sparco Race Seat

It mimics the welded-in bracket that is on your 85 seat/slider right now. The 964 piece bolts-in instead, and you may need add'l washers at the other 3 corners of your chair to compensate.... but it's doable.

Wil is always a great source of information. I'll add to his recommendation. The 964 RS and/or 928 seat bracket like the one pictured in the link would be great- IF YOU COULD GET IT! I ordered this from Pelican in March and haven't heard diddly squat about it on backorder from Germany.

So the next best alternative in my opinion is to go with the very nice stainless (and therefore a bit spendy) Brey Krause side seatbelt mount adapter. It's part number R-9005 and retails for about $70

See the additional spacer they provide? You simply use this on the other side at the rear and it adds only a slight rear rise to the seat. The plate is very thin since it's high strength stainless.

4flyboy, I dig your signature quote, having been there in suddenly single-engine twins. Dick Collins, right? He and I (and my now-wife) used to work together at Flying.
