Inconsistent engine at cold start

I haven't been on the board in quiet a while. That's because my '84 Carerra has been running great. Until Now. I don't know of any mechanics in the area that I would trust with this car so I'm hoping someone here can guide me. On cold start-up the engine is inconsistent on acceleration. It's almost as though I'm a standard trans. rookie who is bucking as he leans to use the clutch. This will last for as long as 10 minutes. Then without any notice the engine begins to run fine and usually the problem will not return until I start it cold the next time. However, it has been doing this after warm while stopped at a red light. The bucking will return and unless I reclutch and really get on the engine it won't go away. Thanks and any help would be appreciated.

Not sure. I know for sure that I haven't replaced it. How do I find out?
