Colorado Summer - Littleton to Estes

Three of us met at 8 am today for a short drive up into the mountains. Our "short" drive ended up being closer to 4 hours of driving in the Rockies. Weather this time of the year can be hit or miss in the mountains and we "hit" and we "missed" ! We started off with sunny skies but hit our share of rain (not great with the well used R1's or without wipers !)

Overall we had a great drive. We called Lars (speedo) since we drove right past his home but were not able to hook up. Maybe next time Lars!

The best part....no tickets !

Sounds like you boys had a fine day.

Any chance the fellow with the Pacific Blue 911 could post a side shot with the Fuchs in full view? I'm looking to change mine and those look cool.

Thanks.

We had a great time except for the occasional mini-van. I was surprised that most vehicles moved over for us.

Craigs car looks great, you gotta love Gran Prix White.

Wayne, here is another thread with some more pic's.

I got a new set of wheels

Tom,

Yep the color sanding is done and most of the "peal" is gone. Is it a show car.....nope, but I did not pay for a show job and I am pleased with the final product especially given the condition of the car when it went in for paint. I know where the issues are but I'm guessing the average person would never see em. A few days at the track and no one will know

This trip was its shake down.....I have a few things to tighten up. Unfortunately, the glass tail rubbed through the body paint in a couple of places so I have some touch up and adjusting to do.

The red Carrera CS graphics arrived on Saturday......it's almost done.

You should bring it to the Village Inn Saturday AM (if we're doing that this Sat), Craig.

Would love to see it.

Hey Craig, whats up with not calling me either? Old blue (my '72) would have love to have join you'll up in the mts as well. Lets do another drive when a couple more kindred spirit, CO 911 diehards can join in as well. Maybe when Lars (speedo) gets his new car on the road....

Bill, you still driving that POS '72 around? You clearly weren't invited 'cause it attracts the attention of the state troopers. I seem to remember an incident that I have photo evidence of...

Tom, I'll be in Keystone that weekend so I will not be at the breakfast.....sorry. Stop by if you want to see the final product.

Bill, I'll let you know if we do it again. We actually did not set out to drive to Estes but were having such a good time, we just ended up there We should definately plan a visit to Lars when he gets that tub back.

Anyone going to Pueblo 8/2 and 8/3 ?
