Carrera 3.0 OEM Wheel options

I recently acquired a '77 Carrera 3 and am trying to find out if the 16x7 and 16x8 Fuchs are the original wheels. Can anyone tell me if this car had this as an option?

No. it did not. Those sizes were only used on the turbo. You probably would have had either 15" cookie cutter wheels or 7x15 and 8x15 Fuchs.

As JR says, no.

For the 1977;
C3, Fuchs 6 & 7 x15 w/ 185/70 & 215/60 was standard and 7 & 8 x15 w/ 185/70 & 215/60 or 6 & 7 x16 w/ 205/55 & 225/50 were optional

930 Fuchs 7 & 8 x16 w/ 205/55 & 225/50 were standard

For 1976 C3, 6 & 7 x15 w/ 185/70 & 215/60 was standard and 6 & 7 x15 w/ 205/50 & 225/50 or 7 & 8 x15 w/ 185/70 & 215/60 or 7 & 8 x15 w/ 205/50 & 225/50 were optional

Switching to 7 & 8 x16 w/ 205/55 & 225/50 x16 was a popular thing to do back in the early eighties, by the late eighties 7 or 8 & 9 x16 was the way to go w/ 205/55 or 225/50 & 245/45 tires
