Help with part number
Hi, I am considering buying some used shock-absorbers with part nr. 911 333 501 54. I hoped they were Bilsteins, but am not sure. The seller states that they are, but they are not marked "Bilstein"! I am thinking of having them re-valved to suit my car, so if they are something else, then I better look elsewhere.
Thankful for help... Ole |

I think you may have gotten some of the numbers reversed. Nothing comes up for the part number you posted but if you use 911.333.051.54 this part registers but it is superceeded. 911.333.051.51 and.53 come up as Woodhead rear shocks from the mid '70s. How sure are you about the last numbers? Do you know what year of 911 the came off of?
Do you have any other info on the shocks? The color of the shock body may help alot.

This is the number I got... The dampers are from an early '80s SC (Euro-type). The colour is blue. Could these be the Woodhead dampers?
I thought they were used only on earlier cars. The dampers are of the gas-type... Again, thanks for help! |

Not sure if it's okay to comment on such an old post, but I figured it's good reference. This part of 911 333 501 54 is on my rear shocks. They are blue and have a W on them. I have a 1982 911sc Targa Euro. I am the third owner and have had the car 20 years. I bought it from a friend who was the second owner who had it at least 10 years, so I am pretty sure they are the original shocks that came on the car.
