Need Help - Blower Motor for Heat / Engine Bay
I am ALMOST finished with my 3.4 hot-rod build for my '85 Targa. I installed the plastic 964 intake and used the heat block-off plate (off of the fan housing) to maker sure all cylinder receive the same amount of fresh cool air.
I have B&B headers with heat boxes plumbed with the OE Y-pipe up through the engine sheet metal. PROBLEM: I want mount the blower motor under and behind the intake on the drivers side to eliminate the uglies and to tidy up. I will use 2-3/4" ID tubing with the needed bends to go from the rubber mouth at the sheet metal to where I want to mount the blower motor. The current blower motor (OE) is just too large in overall size to accomplish this. QUESTION: I need a blower motor that is at least 1/3 smaller maybe even less but with enough CFM to move the fresh air into the heater boxes. Does anyone have a website or contact or know where to purchase what I need??? Thanks!! ![]()

Okay I found a pic online.
Its a CFM250 12volt marine boat bilge blower. I think I paid $40.00 for it new. Its an inline blower and has a 4" opening. It might work?

I found this information:
3" Blower ------------ 3" (7.62cm) Intake 3" (7.62cm) Exhaust with remote bracket 8" (20.32cm) Length 4-3/4" (12.07cm) Mounted height CFM 170 Air movement. Ignition protected 12V DC, 4.0 Amps Use 6 Amp fuse. 4" version -------------- Size: 4-1/2" x 6-1/6" x 5-1/32"L. There are also other versions available. Do an ebay search using "Attwood Turbo In-Line Blower" and they will come up. I hope this helps.

Did any of of you follow through with this idea? I am thinking about doing something similar on the fresh air side of each HX.
