Interior opinions please

The interior of NYNE-11 is in very good condition.........apart from 2 small splits of the drivers seat pad about 1/2" long (looks like something sharp has penetrated it) and a small stain on the passenger side seat pad. What I am considering is using the leatherique filler on the splits with support underneath (which I have from my last job) and also dying the center sections of the seats black to go with the rest of the theme.
Constructive opinions would be most welcome.

As is

Option 1

Option2 with door arm rest black also

Personally I am leaning toward option 2
Dave.

Dave,

Nice color combos...I have to agree on option 2, but consider changing the door handles to black also.

Black accents will add a nice touch. Have you considered extending it to the steering wheel?

am I the only one that cannot see the pics? Hey Dave, email me. I had thought about something similar too for awhile...

Any luck with the console yet?

+1. That would look great with option 2.

Why can't I see the pics? I see other pics on the board today. Daves are all white rectangles with red X's on my screen...

Hah, see them now. The other computer for some reason was not showing them. Wierd.

Anyway, Dave, looks nice! I like option 2 as well, but what about this. Maybe if you did the pockets, tops, and handles on your doors all black, switched to all black carpeting, and then reversed your seat idea to black with grey inserts. The only reason I suggest this route is that you can maybe use the black console you were wanting without the worry of the matching grey business... Just a thought. Either way, it is going to be killer when you are done. Hurry up!

Shane,
I will be going with the center section black to facilitate the repairs. No luck with the console. I will have to talk to them and tell them what I want. As I said in my email I can't understand what is so diificult!

I still think you should go with black carpet and door pockets etc. Just leave the main part of teh door panels and the tops grey.

I have pretty much decided (finally) that this is what I am doing with mine now. I was torn abotu leaving the carpet the stock color, but I just really think it will look very good when contrasetd with the grey-beige in mine.

IMO, if you are going to dye the map pocket lids, you should do the door pulls as well. Also as mentioned, go with a black steering wheel and shift knob.

Eric, good thought on the door pulls...will PS them and see what it looks like. The Steering Wheel and Shifter are not as Bright as appears in the photos. The flash seems to catch them every time. Here is a better photo of them.

I would change all the "whites" onto black; but first of all the steering wheel.

Those black inserts look too much to me, it looks overdone.

well, it is not exactly a restrained sense of aesthetics at work here

you have the godzilla sized Pooschey badge, the extreme contrast in tonal values (steering wheel, shifter, doors, rear Al storage area, etc), the bulging steering wheel, and so forth

not for me & not for some others who posted above - but if you like it all then keep it.

to me, the whole thing is overdone - but the black inserts with their shapr contrast to the adjacent light gray do fit into the overall scheme - so I think you should go with the black - it's your thing to make a bold design and that does it.

Here we go again! of all the post I have responded to on this forum and any other I have always respected other peoples choice in make, model, color, wheels, etc. I thought I could expect the same consideration here ...... My mistake.
Wait until you see the new center console....that will really make you vomit and as a matter of fact I did consider a Supra but bought a 300ZXTT instead...
here's a couple of that you can bag as well if it makes you feel better.

I try to stay as close to factory original as possible. Extreme customization tends to make the car less appealing to the mass market when it comes time to sell in the future. Trust me I know from experience.
