Mexico Blue vs. Gulf Blue w/Stripe?

We've all seen the Gulf Blue cars with the Orange stripe...

Has anybody used that stripe with Mexico Blue? Pics Please!!

Some people confuse Gulf and Mexico blue quite often. I think mainly because there seems to be a wide disparity of the shades or hues of Gulf Blue. Some being paler or richer than others dependant upon how it was mixed or conditions under which the paint was applied..

I'm thinking of doing a project with the Orange stripe.. torn between the use of the "correct" Gulf Blue or Mexico Blue

Any thoughts and pictures appreciated?

Thanks

Gulf blue with orange. Don't mess with a classic.

If you're going to do Mexico Blue (#336) then don't do the stripe. FWIW this is the original color for my car and what it will eventually be returned to.

Gulf blue alone with the orange stripe. Anything else is going to just look wrong.

I think Mexico Blue looks nicer as a color, but the Gulf Blue motif is more "historical" especially if you do the stripe, racing #'s, etc. Your call which way you want to go, but personally I'd say Mexico Blue (I'm biased).

it would be like going to Howard Johnson's every time you got in your car. Love the fried clams.

Now that's funny wish I'd said that Shaun! You're dating yourself.
