SWT kit
Here's one place that advertises a soft window frame kit. (scroll toward bottom of page) I do not have any direct experience with them:
Porsche 911 2.0L - 2.4L Targa Upholstery, Seats, Carpets, Interior Panels, Convertible Tops, Floor Mats, Headliners and Other Trim Accessories from World Upholstery and Trim |
I have a 1969 Porsche Targa that I have owned for the last 30 years. The original owner changed out the back window from a soft to hard before I purchased back in 1982. The car is a european model and has no back seats. I would like to change it back to the original soft back window. What is the best way to achieve this? Gary

Mr. Freezing kits are great. Even the threading of the eye bolts to the lower bar are precise. The vinyl is available from a few places so just shop.
The only problem I have so far is that the upper bar is a bit too snug up against the roll bar. I am trying to figure out a way to "easy" it a bit. Definitely, howerver, put the bars bolts in place with the stainless cover off. I found that it was really impossible to position the lower bar to snag bolt coming through. I will let you know if I can figure out why the upper bar is so snug that to date with the cover on the rear top, I cannot get the thing all the way up to the locking handles. Fred Adler San Diego |
Mr. Freezing
Not only are Mr. Freezing's kit great, but when you end up in trouble fitting the new top, Mr. Freezing is right there immediately to help you with his experience. The new top may not fit easily and I went back and forth with Mr. Freezing with pictures and he walked me through it. Thank you Mr. Freezing.:p
