M Logo Modify a Porsche 911 Turbo into an road rocket 848bhp tyre-shredding monster

Modify a Porsche 911 Turbo and you might as well wait for the men in white coats – because it will be really quick.

But that hasn’t stopped one Swiss tuner from turning the 480bhp road rocket into an 848bhp tyre-shredding monster.

Enter the Sportec SPR1 T80.

Speaking to Auto Trader, Sportec’s Ed Jackson said: “We take the Porsche 911 Turbo, strip it to its shell and then rebuild it from the ground up to our client’s bespoke specification”.

And part of that specification includes a fire-breathing 3.6-litre ‘boxer’ style engine which punches out 858bhp and a knockout 643lb/ft of pulling power.

To put it into perspective, Sportec helpfully explains exactly how that power is quantified, saying it’s “akin to having a Volkswagen Golf GTI powering each tyre.”

So with four GTI’s stuck on each wheel, the Sportec Porker sprints from 0-62mph in just three seconds and will shoot on to a top speed of more than 236mph, which is dangerously close to Bugatti Veyron territory.

The Sportec gets carbon ceramic brakes, carbon-fibre and Kevlar body panels, forged 20-inch alloy wheels, and the all-important leather interior.

Whether it comes with an organ donor card is not known at this moment but we’ll find out in July, when it touches down at the super exclusive Salon Prive supercar show in South West London.

We’ll be reporting live from the event, which runs from 22 to 25 July, so check back with Auto Trader for more updates.

Gosharoonie, Mr. Wizard. I remember when 70-hp Porsches were great fun to drive. What is it with today's seemingly pervasive fascination with high horsepower? Maybe I should put a Merlin in a Notchback...

Oh, and I definitely smell a press release here.

While I enjoy speed as much as the next guy, I think a nice all around performer is often set aside for the greed for speed

Several of the linked images show the car on SNOW.

I'll bet you'll see this car next week on wreckedexotics dot com.

And what is the anticipated melt-down rate?

The Bughatti Veyron at 1000 hp has 19 radiators to reject sufficient engine heat from its 4 turbos. Let's say this 911 needs only 9. Where would these coolers be located?

Like the Veyron, this 911 could be fuel-tank limited to preserve the engine.

Whoops! Enter the knowledgeable Porsche owners!

Why don't they call it the "Quad-GTI-Tyre-Power", or the QGTP for short?

unmillionusd... hmm. Izzat supposed to indicate francais? Or more like an old 7-Up slogan?

I'd rather have the Veyron.

Only one? I'm looking forward to ordering five - one for each color of a Skittle (Skittles-colored Miatas are too common).

I agree that the handling is a great facet of the 911, but c'mon... There isn't a person on this board that wouldn't piss themselves in anticipation of taking this beast for a spin.
Now go detune your cars, so you can better enjoy cornering without all that bothersome horsepower

I'd love to buy, one (or five) if I had the money. Even if you could never use all the horsepower and performance you know it'd be a blast to drive.

You could also strap a RATO (Rocket Assisted Take Off) rocket to the back of your car.
The drawback of course is: the rocket ...once ignited....burns for 14 seconds...you MUST have at least 24 1/2 miles of very straight road ahead of you!
just funnin'
Bob
