SC oil pressure sending unit leak
When I recently started my heater backdate on my 83, I must have bumped the oil pressure sending unit in the process, loosening it up a little. It started my first official oil leak. I have tried tightening it up a tad and it helped, but I do not want to overtorque it. I noticed it at work today and I loaned my Bentley out. Is there a torque value for this fitting? Is this thing using an o-ring seal? I am wondering if the o-ring tore or was damaged when it was bumped loose?
Thanks

Don't know really, have not tried yet... but I do have a metric set of crows feet and thought I could reach it with those and an extension...

that will change the torque value - I would just tighten until it stops leaking -- slowly

Shane,
I think they use those soft crush washers here. Where does it leak? the sensor is attached to a housing and the housing also has a bolt. Does it leak at the housing or right where the sensor attaches? In either case if it has those soft crush washers I'd get new washers.

OK< thanks Sal. It looks like I should be able to unbolt this without any big todo. I do not need to drain oil down at all do I? This should give me a better idea of what I have going on anyway...
Thanks

Just un-bolt it should not leak much.

if it is mounted into a block like on a Carrera be VERY careful - search threads on that & do what Jim Sims has posted.
