Question remove pillar trim?

This is a photo from an 82 SC. I am working on removing the quarter glass and replacing the headliner. It is not obvious to me how to remove this piece of trim to gain the access needed to install headliner under it. Thought I would ask before hurting something. Thanks!

It's basically glued on. If you'll remove the door weatherstripping, you'll see it is wrapped around the pillar.

Peel it off. It's just a piece of leather glued to the steel doorpost. If you rip it while doing so, simply replace it with another piece of black leather of the same size. It's not exotic, it's leather. Like shoes.

Thank you sirs, that is just what I needed. Sometimes brute force comes first and then questions, I thought I would ask first for change.

You can just peal back a little of the top to install the headliner. Glue it back when your done.
