Tach problem

Hi

I have probably destroyed my tach on 72 911. I connected it to coil signal (wire comes from CDI to coil) it was working nice for few seconds, but then started go banana. After that when i connected it to where it should be (distributor signal ,wire going to CDI) nothing happens. Have i destroyed it? and is there a fix or im a looking to buy a new tach.?

Thank you

Yes, you have probably blown the input resistors by connecting it to the 460V output of the CDI rather than the 12v input from the points.

Sounds like you will need North Hollywood Speedometer. they have always done a good job for me, and I feel their prices are very reasonable.
