clutch pedal needs viagra

recently rebuilt my cluster and the clutch pedal rests about 1/2 way down. it still functions well but causes me to move the seat too far forward granny style....

when i did the rebuild i did not replace the large spring, is this my problem???
it still seemed to be in ok shape. any advice would be great! thanks

move the adjusting nuts that attach the cable to the trans bracket a few turns closer to the rear end of the cable sheath to raise the pedal engagement point.
