				Soundproofing question

I was unable to find the answer to my question using the search function, so please forgive the simple question. My 79' SC came to me with no interior and I'm now getting to the point where I can start getting the interior back in. I have the factory soundproofing along the rear seat area, rear shelf and along the sides in the back. My question is about the floor, starting with where someone in the back seat would put their feet, up through the driver and front passenger would put theirs and the tunnel in the middle. Was there originally any soundproofing here beyond what was on the back of the factory carpet?? I lifted up the carpet on my 928, and there isn't any. Just wanted to check. Thanks!!

Nope. Nothing below the carpet but the floor, with a light coating of paint over a sound deadening coating. Later cars (Carreras) got some thin asphalt sound deadening pads on parts of the floor. JR | ||
