Martini Rally 911 in ATL?

My friend shot me these pics this morning. He said he saw it on his way to work in downtown ATL. Anyone know this car or if it is the real deal?

This car had showed up at the Avenue Car Show in Marietta, Georgia the last several months and looks fantastic, but the scuttlebutt it that its a very expensive replica and just makes the driver feel like he's winning Lemans!!!!!!

I walked around it several times and the paint job is beautiful. Its a show stopper.

Wanna see a great collection of over 300-400 sports cars including a whole lot of Porsches? Drive over to the "Avenue" east of Johnson Ferry Road on Roswell Rd (120) in Marietta, GA any first saturday of the month, every month, rain or shine. It got so popular they had to move it to the upper east parking lot. Cars start coming in around 8 and it breaks up around 11ish. First come first serve on the parking. Everything from the Model T guys to Ford 250 GT Prototypes and of course the Martini Porsche. The 356 Southeast US Club (25+ cars) showed up a few months ago and were they gorgeous!

I think this is the car that "Porsche and 911 World" has an article about in volume 173 (this month's). I'll look when I get home.

Wow cool. I had no idea the Avenue things had got so big, I will definitely bring the RSR look out when it is street-able.

Issue 172 of '911 & Porsche World' features a very similar car- but there are a few differences. The guard plate on the front and rear bumpers are different, as are the rear bumper towing hooks and the blue stripe on the rear quarters is different. I'm sure there are more differences.

Either way, very cool!

Paul.

The car was built by us and Auto Kennel. Paul at AK was really intrigued by the SCRS and had a nice SC to start with. We did a lot of the work, seats, roll bar, had the plates bent up, tow hooks, etc.
Since then Paul has built two more and a Jagermeister tribute

Avenue cruise

FYI,
They have moved to the 1st Sunday according to flyers at the event last weekend. I plan to bring my race car next time if Labor Day does not interfere.

Sunday????? Thanks for the update.

My Sepia Brown 1973.5T 911 has been an attendee for over a year on and off and it just keeps on growing as the word gets out. It probably now ranks as one of the largest monthly gatherings in Atlanta. It was started by a local airline pilot last year who got a few guys together every month to talk cars. They collected at the west side of the mall parking area and it literally exploded into a 300-400+ car event and its just getting larger.

I missed last saturday because I am doing some work on the car, but its understandable why the Mall folks wanted it moved to sunday. The cars take up a lot of customer parking.

Anyways, Atlantanite's have some of the largest numbers of collectible cars in the country and this show somewhat proves it. My favorite is the Lamborghini guys with all cylinders blasting, with the free "have a seat and check it out" attitude and the Austin Healy Bug Eyed Sprite restorations that take me back to my first car, a 1958 Austin Healy Bug-Eyed Sprite.

Great stuff...............
