Porsche Crest Factory Fill decal

Which "Factory Fill" decal is period correct for a 911 carrera 1985?

I was told that the Shell decal was for earlier cars (SC).

A picture of the decal or the engine compartment of a 1985 Carrera is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Kees

You might call Pelican first, to see if they can source them, and if they can't I think Stoddard has some.

Anyone know what year SC's had these? Mine does not have one but may have originally.

The '85 had a Shell decal, but not the one shown in your photo. That's an SC-era decal. The one you need has a white background with a thin red stripe over a thin yellow stripe at the top.

Looking further, they went to an all yellow decal in the mid-80's. It's possible that they used whatever Shell sent them and more than one style is correct for a particular year.

I know they were used from 1979-on, but I don't know if they were used on a '78. I've seen pictures that suggest that they were.

My '84 RoW has a BP decal instead of Shell. Would this be correct?

Yes it is, thank you for posting. Nice work on all the stickers. What's the sticker on the air box in the above photo? Mine is there but you can't read anything off of it.

no, its a 3.0 liter that was bumped up to a 3.2 liter short stroke, the max moritz mod. It has the original CIS and airbox.
