Is a MANN filter as good as MAHLE for the early 2.0 engines?
I didn't have a MAHLE filter so I just put on the proper sized MANN filter I had. Looks like a great filter but I had head about some extra valve or something that the 901 series engines need in the filter. Is the MANN alright to use? Its made in Germany versus the Austrian built MAHLE.

I have some experience with the Mann filters....but not on my Porsches. They have a good reputation over in Europe I think.

As far as I know they are the same. On the Ferrari filters, there is a backflow filter in there, but none as far as I know with any of the Porsche filters. Mann and Mahle are both OEM manufacturers for Porsche.

Thanks all. They definitely look very different. Totally different construction on them too. The only thing that is the same is the mounting threads.
I always use MAHLE and I really don't know where this MANN came from! |
