New restoration product update!

Bob at APPBIZ here

We have this customer…. for the sake of his privacy we will call him P. He is in the process of restoring and early 911. His attention to detail is way beyond anyone we have ever come across. In fact we have teased him about joining some sort of 12 step program! When he replaced the fuel tank in his car he was able to purchase the rubber filler neck boot but was not willing to settle for using his original rusty drain tube. He checked the dealer, scoured parts catalogs and wrecking yards and never found one that wasn’t a rusty mess. We understand the factory discontinued this item many many years ago. As always he came to us for a solution.

We CNC machined the fitting out of steel, CAD plated it and using heat, inserted it into a PVC tube, just like the factory part. I think you will all agree the results are spectacular. Since P. absorbed most of the cost of the CNC programming we can offer these at what we think is a reasonable cost. Our Suggested List price on this Item is $22 When you contact your Pelican Sales associate tell them the part is from Applied Business Concepts (APPBIZ) our part number is FBDP
All 911912/930 models from 1965 to at least 1989 use this, The only difference we can find between the years is the length of the PVC tube, so me made it long enough you can cut it to length once you have it installed.

As always we welcome your questions and comments.

That looks nice but that is one of the many parts I hope to never need to replace.

Bob,
Can you show us where this part fits on the car? I am restoring an early 911 so I could use some help on where to look on the car.
Thanks, and nice looking part.

SP2, When you open the fuel filler door, you will see a molded rubber boot that surrounds the Fuel filler pipe. The CAD plated flange on this pipe is at the bottom of the filler boot. Look for a really rusty hole at the bottom of the rubber boot.

Good Lord! (in a good way) Ask him if he is using original German air in the tires?
