Spline count on torsion bar
Can anyone give the basic count for reindexing torsion bar splines so i can raise the height on rear of car by exactly 1". Iknow it won't be perfect but need a starting point and having trouble figuring it out after reading archived posts. I am thinking like 6 counter clockwise on inside and 4 clockwise on the outside for the drivers side rear.

If I remember correctly . . .
I believe - using the driver's side - one inner spline clockwise & one outer spline counter-clockwise yields a 1/2" rise. Or is it a drop? As you can see, I'm old & easily confused so - grain of salt. Ian

I asked a similar question. Try this link:
Ride height adjustment Basically, moving the inner spline one notch in one direction and the radius arm (outer spline) one notch in the opposite direction, should net a change of a bit over .25 inches because of the different number of splines on each end of the torsion bar. So...if you move the torsion bar 4 splines clockwise, and the radius arm 4 splines counter clockwise, you should be close to your 1" rise on the driver's side.

Thanks Ossi I spent some time trying to figure out what I needed to do last night and came up with the same as you did. Drivers rear 4 turns clockwise on inner splines and 4 turns counter clockwise on outer splines should get me close to 1" lift on that side provided my torsion bars are not getting tired. Will start the project tonight and figure I have the whole weekend to play with my new scales and corner balance once I get the heights close.
