Please Help, 76 Fuel Pump

I have looked on this forum for all parts, but when it comes to a 76 there is no bosch fuel pump listed, and it says you must modify it to work. Why is there pumps for all other years, but 76. What have you pelicanites done in this situation. I dont want to modify, and change anything. I just want a plug and play pmp for originality. All info would be a great help. its a stock 2.7 and pressure is low, adn wont hold pressure after shutting it off. Its not the accumulator

I put a new fual pump on my '76 C3. Don;t recall there being any issues.

The only change that i can think of was the check valve was internal on the earlier cars and external on the latter cars

the external check valve may be needed for use on an early car

The 76 uses an m10x 1.5. The bosch fuel pump appears to be discontinued, but can be had for a little more than 400 buck. The aftermarket pumps do not have a banjo bolt on the outlet side of the pump. The outlet on aftermarket pump is a nipple. Really would love a good original, but cant see spending the 400. Just asking if I have any other avenues, or if the aftermarket pump will work, then what else do i need for a clean install such as an install kit

I have a used pump from a 73 CIS T (should fit) if you would like to go that route.

I just put an after market Walbro fuel pump on my '76S (along with new fuel lines) - runs better than anytime since I bought the car. Pump came with a fitting that matched the banjo on the fuel line but required a cap nut. One can also just use the original banjo bolt - when I installed the same pump on a '73.5T I used the original banjo bolt. The only concern may be if there is enough slack in the fuel line with the banjo fitting to reach the end of the Walbro pump where the outlet is located. There were a variety of adapter fuel fittings available for the Walbro pumps. I also made an adapter electrical harness to avoid cutting the factory pump wiring harness.

When the workshop replaced my fuel pump last year, they informed me that a correct '76 pump could not be had, and that they had replaced it with an SC fuel pump instead. I am not sure what mods had to be carried out to the lines or fitting to accomodate the SC pump, but I will see if I can find out.

Here is the deal with my 76. I did a couple of things. First the original fuel line was bad. Back flushing the line had fuel spraying everywhere. I replaced the fuel line with braided steel line and AN fittings. My original fuel line had a banjo fitting with the check valve actually in the banjo fitting. I was going to need a new AN banjo. I also needed a check valve. I ended up with a nipple that threaded in to the pump. I had to source an AN banjo that I had do drill up to the size of the nipple, a couple of washers and a cap that sealed off the nipple. All these parts except the banjo were stock Bosch parts, sorry no I do not have the part numbers with me but I have seen a post here somewhere, I think, with a Bosch parts list of replacement parts that has numbers for the parts I used (except the banjo).

Thanks everyone. I know there is always tricks to get any fuel pump in there, its jus this is my daily driver right now, and I kinda have to get what I need all at once and install that day. When looking for a pump, how much pressure do i need, and volume. There are so many pumps out there

Oh, just noticed this new "73-76 Fuel Pump" in the FS forum:

FS: NEW Bosch Fuel Pump for 73' -76' 911, Free Shipping

Sounds like he's keen to offload it, why not make an offer? (No affiliation...)
