911 SC: Front suspension issues

Hello everybody

I have a problem with the front suspension of my '82 SC:

when I pull the front bumper up the car stays in that position. When I push it down again, it also stays in that position. When I push or pull the rear of my car up and down it's all boingy as it's supposed to be. When I pull it up it goes down, when I push it down, it comes back up. So no problem there.

I tried to raise the front of the car a bit to put more 'pressure' on the torsion bars. The car did come up, but still no boingy-effect in front (or maybe a very very little bit). I also tried lubricating the joints with WD40 (just to test, maybe there was something stuck) but that did not work either.

All four shocks have been replaced last week with Bilsteins (Bilstein-inserts for Boge struts in front). I think the problem also existed before last week but for some reason it wasn't so clear. Probably because the shocks were worn out.

My guesses are:

1: I did something majorly stupid while installing the front shocks (can happen to anyone. Right ?.... RIGHT ? )

2: The front torsion bars are worn out and should be replaced.

3: I'm a stupid ... and I lubricated the wrong parts.

Somebody.. help...please !

Thanks !!

Tim
