Fuchs Question - 7x15 Lip

I have 2 sets of 7x15 fuchs and I decided I only needed to keep 1 set for my RS clone project. I pulled them both out to pick which set to sell and I noticed the lip is different. They are both the later style rims with the ring type cap and they both have the correct factory markings. It's hard to tell from the pictures but the lip on the set with the tires has much more of a curve to it and the radius of the 90 degree curve is also bigger. The lip on the other set is much flatter and the radius smaller. Any ideas?

I don't know if this helps you, but my 15" rims look like the ones with the tires. Came with the car in 1986. It may be difficult to tell from the photo, but it is the more rounded type.

You sure they are both Fuchs?

Part number and Fox/Triangle logo?

The earlier ones were slightly rounded and used a 3 prong center cap... also worth more $$$

They both have all the correct markings.. part number and Fox logo and yhey both take the ring style cap.

The ones with the tires have an 83 date stamp and I can't make out the date stamp on the other set

Seems to me I have noticed this, but really never put my finger on the exact difference. Now that you've documented this, I'm interested in the results of the thread.

Do part #'s end with 11 or 41?

I originally thought they both ended with 41 but I just cleaned it up a bit and the set without the tires ends in 11. Is that the difference?

I think most of the lips on ones that end in 41, at least from the pictures I've seen, look flatter than mine - more like the ones that end in 11.

What else are you loooking for?

It appears that the earlier (11) wheels have a less rounded or more pronounced 90' angle than do the later (41) wheels.

My 15" x 7" date code 10 & 11 /73 wheels are like your 2nd and 4th photo.
