Disabling Turn Signal Emergency Feature
How do I disable the turn signal emergency light feature? --- the one when you have the car parked and if you have your left or right turn signal engaged the parking lights / rear lights / plate light is illuminated.
I've been doing some electrical stuff in the car and hit the signal by accident whilst rummaging around and thought that I really buggered things up for a minute or two when the lights were on. I really don't like this feature. I remember reading about it here but can't seem to find the appropriate thread. Cheers, Kato |
Found the thread ....

Okay, now this is why I read Pelican every day - to educate myself!
I thought my 81 had a problem... I've cleaned the ground, replaced bulbs, etc., and figured the problem was something between the turn signal switch and the ignition switch... It's factory and it's OK... THANK YOU! angela |

Heck - as I said above I am aware of this feature and while I was messing around with the electrical system yesterday and hit the turn signal by accident when I saw the lights were on the heart started pumping and f-bombs started dropping ... until I remembered this feature.... |
