can anyone identify these trailing arms please?

Hi everyone,

It's been a long time since i last posted as i'm unfortunately 911-less at the moment, but i'm trying to change that situation ASAP.

In the mean-time i've been asked by a friend of mine to try and identify some trailing arms but i'm stumped, hence i'm hoping you guys can help!

He's currently restoring a VW Beetle that has been modified by Oettinger at some point in it's life and it appears to have non-standard trailing arms (it's IRS, not swing-axle).

He ordered replacement pivot bushes but they are too small, approximately 38mm OD, yet the hole in the trailing arm is approximately 41mm dia. So we're wondering if Oettinger has used a trailing arm from another car, possibly a 912/911??

Any ideas what it's from? Or is it just a modified VW part? Or any idea where i can get the correct bush? I'm in the UK by the way

I know this is a Porsche forum not a VW forum, but there are some very knowledgeable people on here!!

Cheers, Jon.

Dave is right. I didn't see the wheel cylinder at first, but if you look in PET, the early 924 came with . . . Drum brakes!

Learn something new every day!
