Trunk lid will not open...HELP!!

I was replacing the rubber stops on my rear trunk lid and closed the trunk for a second, now the trunk went down too low and is stuck and wont open, i tried pulling the cable while my brother pushed up the trunk lid up but nothing....ne ideas????

Have your brother push down to relieve the stress on the latch while you pull the cable. If this doesnt work, pull the cable and push down on each front corner independantly.

You mean the engine lid not the trunk lid?

Pull the cable out as far as it will go, put a vise grip on the cable to hold it all the way out (put a towel around it so you don't scratch the paint).

Push down/ pull up on the edges.

If that doesn't work, get a thin metal bar (used a steel ruler) slide it in and try to move the male spring piece back and forth.
