74 Targa Chrome Moulding Install

I'm wanting to install chrome moulding on 74 Targa. Problem is I understand there is two different types of rubber seals and Im not sure what I have. One type accepts the chrome moulding and one doesn't. I guess its a decorative rubber seal. How do I know which one is the one that will take the chrome moulding? Please note this is for the rear window.
I'll try and get a picture of what I have tonight! I couldn't locate anything on this subject anywhere either.

If there is a groove in it then it should accept the trim, I have not done this to the targa glass seal but on the front glass seal the seal has to go on the glass and then the trim placed into the seal before being mounted in the car.

I did not know there was an optional seal made, the trim is more than decorative it actually locks the seal in.

Good Luck, Shane

I was able to get the trim in the moulding with out much problem at all. I just used some P21 Soap and my favorite tool, the Craftsmen Bottle Opener. Thats Sears item #00941626000 for $7.99. I applied some soap to the tool and messaged into the moulding seem, then applied pressure to the moulding and it slipped right in. You do need to use some effort.

Once I got the moulding on I noticed the moulding did not have the finish that was acceptable. It is brand new moulding and it had abrasions on it from whoever buffed it. So I had to remove it and return for an exchange.

The photo's I took was 2.05 MB and 2.15 MB. This site only allows for 2.0MB so I cant download it.

Once I get the exchanged product and install I'll take the pictures in smaller size and post.
