				CV Joint?

I have been hearing a clicking noise from the passenger rear wheel area. It sounds like there is a nail in the tire. That is not the case. It seems to be more pronounced when the car is cold. I am assuming it is the cv joint. Any advice? What should I replace?

Jack up the rear and turn the tire manually to see if you can hear the same noise.

Inspect the cv boots; look for tears. Usually when a cv joint is worn you hear it in a turn but that's not always the case. |

Better yet, raise the car and check/torque the Allen bolts on the CV's to be sure.
