cis fuel injector question

in the final stage of putting a 73 2.4 cis back together and is missing a sleeve for the fuel injectors, I had to replace two cylinder head and one came without it. my local dealer told me that is part of the head and is not sold separately, but the part is either tap in or threaded. can someone tell me if this part can be found separately from the head I did the ebay thing but nothing. I included a few photos

thanks

First off, I don't have any experience with replacing these sleeves. I do have a set of the 73.5 heads in my garage, but I've never been able to tell how the sleeves are secured. You should be able to look at the hole where the sleeve is missing and see if it's threaded or not. I was thinking they are a press fit. I'd guess that the factory never thought much about the sleeves being a replaceable part, and now, after 34 years, I'd have to wonder if there are any of these heads sitting around in the Porsche supply chain, even if they are showing up in the parts catalog.

I'll bet a shop that rebuilds a lot of heads, like Ollie's in CA, might be able to tell you where you might start looking for a solution to this problem.

the one that is missing is threaded, I do have the heads that were replace and those are tap in but are no good.

I will look up Ollie's and give them a call. if I can get a decent one I can have one made at work

thanks for the reply

Assuming the CIS setup is the same as on the 2.7 engine, yes the sleeves (and seals) are available separately. I recently rebuilt my entire CIS system including the injectors and replaced the sleeves, seals, etc. I'd have to check but I'm pretty sure I bought those components through Pelican here.

Ignore my erroneous advice to Tom Perhaps you can contact him and see what he did...

Best regards,
