hotter plugs dont give you more power. you want to run as cold a plug as possible with out fouling. plugs are designed to operate at around 500 - 900 degrees. if they are too hot, they can pre-ignite the fuel causing detonation- very bad. if too cold, they will not clean themselves and will foul.
i am testing a set of W4cs, very cold plug, in my 77s, so far with good results. i have even put 87 octane gas in to see if pings. usually i have to use 92+ or it WILL ping. in the end, i think i may use a W5 plug.

check bosch's web site on this. also do a search on reading spark plugs.

Not an expert but 24 deg total advance sounds conservative but I come from a 2.4S.

VASH OK. You made me nervous for a second there.

The MSD 6A model 6200 does not have any setting for 4/6/8 cylinders. That is only for the units with the rev limiters.

Thought I missed something there.

911st It was something like 24-26. Things are pretty hectic at 6000 rpm standing there so I wasn't exactly sure of the number. I think 25 is the number in my spec book for the SC.

Thanks
-Dave
