Need engine decoded 6291092 901-09 21324

Hey all, I have an engine I thought was from a 1969 911 but when the valve cover gaskets I ordered for it didn't fit I figured something was up. Here is the serial number 6291092 901-09 21324
Any help will be most appreciated.

That is a 1969 911E motor. Can't tell you why the gaskets don't fit.

Could it be from a 1979?

Actually yes. The '79 US would start with 629XXXX as well. Check for the engine type, a US '79 should be type 930/04

With type 901/09 it is certainly a '69 911E engine.

Never get parts from autopartsonlinecanada.com. They sent the wrong gaskets. When I called them I got hung up on twice. Then got someone saying they have the wrong part number on all their vc gasket sets so instead of finding the right one they just said better not order any because I will just keep getting the wrong one. So rather than fix it they just ignore it and let the customers get screwed. I get my money back (I hope), but am out shipping charges. Thanks for your help Martijn! Much appreciated!
