Yet Another AC question

Is there a difference between the 964 AC condensor/fan assembly and a 993 Condensor/fan? I am comtemplating putting a condensor in my left front....I have found a 964 set up but most of the posts on here seem to talk about 993 units and not 964.

Good question...I'd like to know this as well. The 993 seems to have less condenser area than a 3.2, but it has vastly better air conditioning. I'm sure there's more to that than just the condenser size. But the 964/993 condenser in the left front seems to make more sense than having it hovering directly over the hot engine bay. What a dumb idea that was.

I'm wondering if anyone has "piggybacked" a 964/993 setup with the stock Carrera 3.2 front condenser?

Thanks....I have that post saved....I was wondering if the 964 condensor is the same as the 993.....since the one I found is a 964 I am hoping they are approximately the same dimension. It would seem to me since the fenders are the same on a 964 as on my 3.2 it would be a fairly easy install....just curious before dropping the money for parts.

Yes, they are basically the same foot print, there was a change in the condenser itself later, however the LXWXD are again basically the same.

There are a few threads on installing this unit in pre 964/993 cars, some threads are excellent work and some are hacks. Take your time and read around.
