Help} Starting Problem

CAr was running fine. But I was doing some work in the battery capartment installing different headlights and now all of a sudden the car just cranks and will not start.

I checked the dme relay under the seat and I believe it is okay. But what really baffles me is that I put a test light on the fuse that controls the fuel pump and I get nothing. When I touch the other fuses I get a light and sound menaing that power is flowing thru those fuses. However, when I touch the fuse and post that controls the fuel pump, it is dead. I have changed six fuses with no help.

Will you guys direct me as to where i can start to address this. I believe it starts with the fuse box. Any suggestions will be gratly appreciated. As you can tell from my writing I am not that mechanically inclined

Thanks

Tell us more of your "battery compartment headlight install".....

Have you a voltmeter?

"How" was the DME relay checked? Was it changed (period) ?

Best,

Doyle

Doyle:

I had a guy come in and put some HIDs in my headlights.

I took the DME Relay and separated it a little bit so I could see the pins. I then held a light tester on pins 87 and 87b and I got a light and sound on both. So I assumed that the DME relay was fine. But that may not have been suffieicent.

I do not have a voltmeter. But I will go over to sears and get one if that is what you sugrst. What should I look for in getting one. Ztell me what to buy and I will get one.

I am wondering why when I was touching with the light tester the fuse that controls the fuel pump I did not get any sound or light when the other fuses gave off a signal. Does that suggest anything.

Please direct me in trouble shooting this matter and I will do what ever you say
