What would you do for an oil cooler on a 1991 911 turbo?
I was wondering what would be the best setup for an oil cooler on a 1991 911 turbo with a stock front bumper? I was considering adding another 964 cooler or maybe a front mount fluidyne 650 if I can get it to fit. Car is never auto crossed, but makes a ton of power so started thinking it might be a good idea to upgrade.

Have not driven the car to see yet, but thought it might be a good idea while I was working on it. Car has already made around 800hp and that was not even getting started.

Get the RUF cooler kit which mounts in the left front wheel well. http://www.rufautomobile.de/content.php?seite=shop/produkte.php&details=33

Totally agree with that advice. Its an incredible product that fits perfectly while retaining the A/C condenser and its fan to pull air through the cooler. We've used a lot of these kits with excellent success and IMHO, it well worth the money.

Not sure but B&B I think used to make a biger cooler that goes in the stock location.
I like the RUF idea and that is not a lot for what you are getting and the investment you are protecting. Putting RUF on ones car seems to help its value to. |

The Cargraphic/FVD/Ruf second cooler for 964 & 993 was developed by the factory for the Cup cars. See this thread for background there are others too

BAT Inc. They are in Florida....they sell Setrab and Mocal. Many sizes to choose from and you can get the conversion fittings that will work with AN fittings and braided aircraft line for the hoses.....

Your car already has a good sized oil cooler in the passenger's front fender. Just ensure the thermostat (located in front of the rear passenger's tire) is opening. Drive the car, then feel the headlight/fender on the passenger's side: if warmer than the rest of the car, then it's flowing.
Also, watch your temp gauge as the car warms up: when the t-stat opens, the oil temp will drop 1/8" or so, & take another 5m to come back up, as another few quarts of cool oil entered your system. Mark
