Kudos to Wayne and Pelican

Major kudos to Wayne and all here at Pelican. The shipment I got about 12 days ago is slowly being put into the car. So far
Factory short shift kit, thought for a horrific minute when I got the old one out that it was short. Not
What a difference to the shifting the kit plus new bushings major change. Car shifts confidently now without worrying about down shifting from fourth to like reverse.
Very nice upgrade.
I scooped an airbox off e-bay and the gaskets, rubberware from Pelican. Removed the old blown airbox and replace with new.
Carpets and console back in.
Set the timing last night after a nice warm up run, vacuum advance off dizzy while doing that correct? Anyway timing at 5deg BTDC exactly.
Just back from a drive to dial in the idle @ 900 rpm. Very happy now with the performance solid through the rev range picks up well from as low as about 1200 rpm in second, my first gear syhncro contunues to grate on my nerves at very low revs.....
Anyway I have the front calipers to rebuild. New rotors (discs) and pads to change out they are not bad but I want better. Front left was only like 2thou of an inch under but I thought what the hell if I get her running the way I want I need some good anchors...
Got my fender stone gaurds to apply, the sc flares are out there enough to warrant protection.
New clutch cable but dont know if I should install as clutch feels fine right now????
New alternator belt to go on and re-check timing after. Really want to check valve clearances but dont have gaskets yet... need to order...
Pedal cluster re-build off for moment as well as clutch cable..
Headlight relay kit to go in, but today have to go shopping with the family for my December trip to Australia..... boring but what to do...

Davy,

Be sure and also check the ignition timing at 6000 rpm.
Spec is 19º to 25º advance. Hopefully close to, but not above 25º. Vacuum disconnected.

Best,
Grady

I've been waiting for my shipment of Race steering wheel for 6 months or so.

Wayne gets my kudos with this one exception.

Grady, Thanks yes I need to get one of the women in the car and hold her at 6000 rpm for a few seconds. But will do it when I change out the belt and am happy with that.
