78' 3.0 engine wiring issue

I am currently installing a 3.0 carrera engine from 78' in my 71' 911. The engine is in place and i am wondering if anyone has a diagram for the wiring harness that ends with the 14pin plug. ( for all connectors on the harness ). I have searched the web without luck.

Also, i assume i do not have a ignition control unit that works with this engine. Is an original one easier to install or should i go for one of theese

If anyone have links to threads by people doing a similar engine swap i would be glad to get them

Best regards
Roger

I'll take a shot at your plugs. No. 3 is definitely your CID module connector. No. 1 looks like the heater blower connector, but it shouldn't be harnessed there with those other connectors. No. 2 I've never encountered, maybe a rear windshield wiper connector?

2 rear fuse panel *green*
3 oil temp sensor green/black
4 oil pressure sender green/red
5 backup light switch yellow/green
6 backup light switch grey/brown
7 rear fuse panel blue/yellow
8 shift lever harness brown/white
9 oil pressure switch green/white
10 cis warmup red/white

Roger, many seem to prefer the stock Bosch CDI ignition units like this over the aftermarket solutions out there. It has the 6 pin male connector for the plug you show.

Do a search here - this has been discussed many times over.

Cheers,
Ingo
