1981 911 mods

My cousin has a 1981 911 with 39k miles on it. He lives in NY and I live in CA. Next year when I go to see him what mods should I consider doing to his engine? He has had the head bolts replaced. I have heard that this year may need some mods to air diaphragm, pop box?, chain tensioners, clutch. Any info appreciated.

Pop off valve in the airbox and the Carrera chain tensioners is all that is really needed. I would be surprised if someone hasn't done the pop off valve already.

He is pretty sure the pop off valve has not been done, nor the others.

I did a search but can not find anything on pop off valve. What is it?

Also, I see in the threads that the 930 tensioner is preferred over carrera upgrade. How does one do that? thanks
