Everyone on this board is an enthusiast and would recognize a 928 or 914 as a Porsche from 100 yds away. The owner-types, well... sometimes they just don't know any better.

I agree that it is up to the enthusiasts to educate. I wonder how many of the new car drivers, i.e. non-enthusiasts, don't even know how much fun they can have in their machine? For that matter how much fun they could have in one of our old "Jalopies". (how do you say Jalopy in German?)

I think Jaloopy in German is spelled 9 1 2. :)

Me too , ''bizarre responses", Their was a guy down the street from me with a 928 , and a big giant ''sticker'' on his rear glass of ''that angry guy donning a large fist'' , and a front window sticker that said "Fear This" , but I tryed to get to know him and drove by his house with one of my trick 930 coupes, and he litterally , pulled one of his kids aside?? and was ''speechless" and mumbled?? I really thought he was having a ''stroke" or something brought on by the site of my car?? , They moved away shortly after. The other odd encounter , was when , I ran back to my house to grab my 89 930 car to show to a young Iranian M.D. whom drives some kind of newer 993 something arather, and when I pulled up and showed hi, my car, he made a face like he was starting to cry?!! and mumbled , "these arn't any more , in broken English' and then started to almost cry again??!! but I live in a weird place, so who knows?

The County took over the project because our community can't handle S$%T!
Eventually we'll have the (world's most expensive sewer)2
Yes, that's squared, maybe even cubed.
Sorry for the OT, OP.

Just messin' with ya Steve. Los Osos is probably, IMHO, one of the greatest little coastal towns left in California (south of Carmel). Some say it is a throw back, but I say it is exactly the little village that brought so many here after WWII. Heck you cannot believe how much it reminds me of the old beach towns in South Orange County in the 60's. A great place, Los Osos!

+1. Once those young guys realize the pitfalls of chicks that are more attracted to their car and not them the better their lives will be. After that their minds will be uncluttered, they will realize the power of their machine and get themselves a golden retriever and live happily ever after! Oh, and they will understand the reason we wave at each other and carry on the tradition. It will be their epiphany! :)

I instruct body langauge and detecting deception for the Feds and it depends on the circumstances surrounding the non-wave. Did he look at you and choose to not wave? Did he even see your wave? I usually find that pcar owners who dont participate in acknowledging others are not that into the marquee or are just in a hurry.

I had a 993 guy flash his highbeams at me the other day in La Mesa, very cool I thought.

Years ago I had a passenger in my car, when another 911 waved.
We were stopped at an intersection my big headed passenger suggested I ignore it.
Guess my passenger was just trying to act too cool.
