I have identified a small leak at the left bank (1,2,3 side) cam tensioner oil feed line . I tightened this fitting which took about a 1/2 a turn. I thought this would compress the banjo fitting sealing rings. I cleaned off the area thoroughly ran the car for a few hundred miles and rechecked the area around the fitting and found it wet again, just a little seeping. After studying a manual I can see that there is a little O-ring on the tensioner itself sealing it as it goes through the timing chain cover. I was thinking of replacing the banjo fitting seals but suspect the O-ring is the problem, with 174,000 on the clock. I also believe to do that seal I must remove the timing chain cover. Any tricks or suggestions, thanks JL

Yes you do have to remove the cover, but it is not a big deal. I would replace that drilled bolt. My guess is it is about to break on you after you tightened it 1/2 a turn. At least get 2 spares, they are cheap. I always have a spare some where in my cabinet. I also have hundreds of the aluminum seal washers.
It will be a good project for a saturday morning. Start at 6AM, done by lunch.
