Help No More Spark
I just got my 1976 911S running. I took it for a short drive and it died about 1 mile from my house. I started troubleshooting and there is no spark. It has a Bosch CDI which I can hear humming. I have read several posts and tried to test the trigger signal and the telegraph test. When putting a 12v light on the wire to the distributor and starting the car, there is no power. When attempting the telegraph test, I used an old spark plug cable and connected it directly to the coil, removed the white wire from the coil and turned on the key. While tapping the white wire to the ground no spark was observed. I have several coils and swapped them with no change. Am i doing something wrong. Is there any onther way to trouble shoot the trigger signal. Any help is appreciated.

If the dizzy has point, check the point gap.

the CD can still make noise and be bad.
the points provide a ground to the cd unit, when the points open, it removes the ground and causes the big capacitor in the CD to discharge. it send a 450v pulse to the coil, the coil steps that up about 100:1. so, there is not 12v on the coil like conventional ignition systems
