I think there are only about 10 914's left that are completly stock. They are made to be upgraded. Installing a front sway bar and a set of hi-pro shocks and you have a different car.
I've modified mine a little bit since I bought it 28 years ago. I handles much better now than when I first bought it.... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1224161303.jpg |
It's not on the road yet, but this is my stable mate to my '70 911

Love my 73 914 2.0 Completely original down to the paint, carpet and rubber seals. Only has 66K miles on it. Feels like a new car every time I drive it. While my daily driver is a 90 C2, the 914 is the autocross car. Nothing like being the only one at the autocross with double digit horsepower and still placing in the top ten overall ahead of much more powerful machinery. +1 on the looks from people. Everytime I fill up, someone comes over to ask about the car.

Yeah, and that's a purdy car Manny!

So that's the "evil cockaroach"...
Nice, love the way the Fuchs fill-up the "massaged" rather than flared rear fender wells! P- |
Thank you
the rear rims are 8 x 16 with 245/45 RA-1 (soon to be replaced with 888's - yeah as my street tires!) the front are 951 8 x 16 with 225/50 (2.5 degress of negative camber afford me the room and lots of stick) We added about inch and a half along the upper length of the fender, and a crescent (about an inch or so) shaped piece over the wheel opening. The rear vertical section just in front of the tailamp got a one inch piece, so it blends as smoothly as possible Lids and bumpers are fiberglass and despite a LOT of work, could fit better< being black parts in the hot california sun does not help much. But i kept the oe steel parts in the garage, so all the track rash/ gaps does not bother me that much |
As long as we are posting 914 pics on the 911 board.....1974 with a 3.2 - the best of both worlds, and the reason I frequent this site.

Hi
I had a 72 914 before I bought my 911 and to be honest loved it. it handles great and is just odd enough to give you a continuous smile. There is a huge 914 following. I think its a great car just watch out for rust. I loved mine and wish I still had it John Watson 74 911S used to have 72 914 1.7 |
Yep I have a 914 too. Here they are side by side.....
