his eqns. show the process of acid [and other stuff] forming now, if observations show that gas remains fine but the conceptual modelling above show the direction of the rxns -- the do not show the time course of the kinetics you'd have to show that the rxns proceed rapidly enough to convert appreciable amts of - stuff- before the gasoline volatilizes as usual, we'd also expect that the exciting ***** is happening on particle surfaces -- just like in atmospheric chem., or in a cell organelle... n'est pas? naturally, i ain't leavin' no raw fuel in my motor but i always encourage the curious to conduct their own experiments [and TX ought to be far enough away from me to be safe] |

The kinetics would be a cool thing to jot down but the problem is that it would be different for every engine, gas quality and engine oil. Unfortunitly there is no easy way to model it!
