Check out the 76 Targa I bought yesterday

Hi, so I bought it... I could not resist.

Thanks to all the advise here: Plnning to buy 76 Targa. What to check

The transmision is nicer then the one of my my 86. It shift really great!

What do think about the engine. It looks updated to me... The number is *6460868* . That is 2.7, right?

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Definitely has Carrera tensioners. The smog pump and EGR tubing has all been removed and plugged up. Looks like it has had some engine work, at least the top end, the cylinders are very clean and it looks like it has relatively new one piece oil return tubes on it (the only way to get one piece tubes on is to remove the heads). Steering wheel is an aftermarket, non-original Momo Monte Carlo. Looks like it has SSI heat exchangers, nice!

Yes.

Here's an old post from Grady that is quite useful:

The deals are out there, if you're willing to look. I'm about to make one of my own. The light's playing tricks on me. What color is that?

I'm pretty sure it's manual antennas on the driver's side, power antennas on the passenger side.

Greetings,
Congratulations, on the very nice ride. I have a question for this forum, if I may. I have a 75 911S with a 78 3.0 motor and am interested in removing the smog pump and EGR tubing and plugging it up. Question: What advantages would I see? Thank you all for any help you can provide.

I believe the advantage you will see is cooler operating temperatures on the engine, which in turn will extend the life of the engine. Not too much performance gain as far as I know. Others will know more than me though.

Congratulations again on the great car Boris.

Another question: I have 16 inch wheels on the car and they seam too big. I think it needs 15 inch wheels. Correct?

Are these hard to find?

My paint is cracking or bubbling at a couple of spots... Do you think it has been repainted poorly at some point or could the original paint look like this after 32 years?

Also, does anyone know what the original radio was in 76?

Thanks!
