Why 250 to 1000?

Just curious, why did Porsche decide to make the tach up to 1000 in increments of 250, yet after 1000, increments of 200rpm? I always think about this anytime i've had to make an idle speed adjustment and i'm trying to eyeball 800 or 880 rpm. I was just curious because for the first time i nailed my mixture adjustment and idle speed adjustment with no oscillation of idle. This is somewhat of a celebratory post. Car purrs...

Actually the increments are in 200's but starting with 200, 400, 600, 800 then 1K. ZERO is not needed, your car will be shut down/off in this case.

Remember 84-86 the OEM RPMs is 780-800 & 87-89 is 880-900 (or if you got the SW CHIP)

WOW i CAN NOT believe i've had it wrong all this time! Funny thing is i have it idling now just above the 800 mark, which at the time i thought was the 750 mark. This is excellent news, thanks!

Your Welcome Brother!

If you have the OEM Chip, keep it at 780-800 RPM's Base Idle
