Fuel door latch

Calling all Pelicans,

Need help with installing fuel door latch on a 911

Is that the right spring for the latch?

When I installed it into the fender, the spring has no tension to keep the latch in the closed position

Many Thanks,

Bill

Just guessing without looking at mine, but it would have tension if you folded it over on itself, yes? One ell should be touching the other ell.

This Spring is rather stiff and would need alot of force to get the 2 l's together.

Then there is nothing to hold it compressed like that.

My Dealer has no clue , and I have not seen anything on this in any manuals.
