I think those 350z you are talking about are not stock.
A 911 turbo will wipe the nose of a stock 350z any day.

I know this doesn't nswer your question ...
A Chevy Corvette Z06 is faster than either. So was my buddy's 82 Buick Regal with a 455 shoehorned in. You wouldn't want to have to stop suddenly or turn or anything like that in the Buick, though ...

Point being, if you're concerned about 1/4 mile times, there are much cheaper ways to get them than a Porsche.

Sure the 350z maybe faster in the 1/4 mile - but sooner or later you will have to drive it home and park it in front of your house.

I did a little googling and came up w/ some tests. The best 350Z number I found was 5.1 sec. Carrera 4.6 and Carrera S 3.9. GT2 3.6 and Turbo 3.2.

Porsche Crest 350Z----911 clone???

Well I am glad that is settled. How many 911's did Nissan have to buy to develop their 350Z?
